Completed a few missions in the Eos sector. Shouldn't EDF lose control points when I complete main missions? Seems reasonable to me, but it's not happening. I'm forced to chip away at their 400 control points through property destruction and guerrilla missions.
Unfortunately I'm at the point when most of these things require me to stand up as a one man army against relentless EDF and that typically ends in the EDF's favor. It's not exactly enjoyable.
I had a tremendous amount of fun with the Red Faction: Guerrilla demo, causing plenty of havoc and destruction. I looked forward to the same thing in the real deal. I think I kicked myself when I decided to play through on hard difficulty.
I just don't seem to have the same amount of freedom. The smallest threat to the EDF sends them into a fury, and I'm dead not long after. I just wish I felt a bit more like a juggernaut.
The game makes a point of telling me that I'm one man, one small part of a resistance, against an army. Don't run in guns ablaze and expect to come out alive. Alright, I get that.
Then why are you constantly sending me in guns ablaze? They just seem to ask a lot of one man.
At this point I've lost most interest in finishing the game. All that chipping away at control points feels tedious and not quite as rewarding as it should. I'll take a break and come back later, perhaps.
